    Opioid misuse continues to be a medical crisis. This CME explores three medical cases to enhance your ability to recognize and manage patient pain: 

    • 45-year-old male with diabetic peripheral neuropathy
    • 30-year-old self-medicating pregnant woman with previous MVA
    • 70-year-old male with prostate cancer metastatic to bones

    Course content includes video modules, tools, and resources, plus touches upon treating patients during COVID and via telehealth.

    Upon completion of this CME activity, you should be able to:

    • Describe the pathophysiology of pain as it relates to the concepts of pain management.
    • Accurately assess patients in pain.
    • Develop a safe and effective pain treatment plan.
    • Identify the risks and benefits of opioid therapy.
    • Manage ongoing opioid therapy.
    • Recognize behaviors that may be associated with opioid use disorder.
