- Choose preferred suturing methods for wound closure.
- Perform local anesthesia with minimal pain and maximum effectiveness for patients.
- Evaluate options for skin biopsy, including shave punch, and excisional biopsies.
- Compare appropriate biopsy selections for skin lesions depending upon the type of lesion and its expected depth.
- Demonstrate proficiency in performing shave, punch, and excisional biopsies.

- Integrate the two-step algorithm with dermoscopic examination of skin lesions to determine the need for a biopsy.
- Evaluate different skin lesions using dermoscopy to identify patterns of skin cancer.
- Explain the application of the three types of dermoscopic techniques:
- classic or standard contact
- polarized contact
- polarized non-contact.
- Utilize dermoscopy to differentiate benign nevi from melanoma.
