Following its publication of codes for the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines, the American Medical Association’s (AMA’s) CPT Editorial Panel has approved a new unique code for the vaccine developed by AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford. The panel has also approved unique codes for the administration of both doses of that vaccine.
The new CPT code and descriptor for the AstraZeneca/Oxford vaccine is:

These new codes take effect upon the vaccine receiving emergency use authorization or approval from the Food and Drug Administration. More information is available on the AMA website.
