Description

Fellows work in two distinct outpatient settings and provide side-line coverage comprising a full range of sports medicine issues and ages from pediatrics to geriatrics. The Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Clinic provides concentrated experience in managing traumatic injuries, ranging from sprains and strains to dislocations, fractures and minor trauma. The Family Medicine Sports Medicine Clinic sees more overuse, as well as medical conditions limiting sports participation, medical management of athletes with chronic medical conditions, wellness assessments and cardiovascular disease. The university environment allows exposure to problems characteristic of that environment, including eating disorders, psychological pressures, dermatologic issues and epidemiologic difficulties. In addition, we have a Fitness Center…membership required, we pay for their Residency Training Permit (if they want a full medical license, they must pay for that and it is up to the department if they reimburse), they will utilize the institutional DEA number, contingent upon they do not have one already.
