Description

Our PCH Fellows learn to manage high-risk pregnancy, Level 2 neonatal care, surgical obstetrics, substance use disorders and limited/follow-up OB ultrasound. We care for our people from the underserved Westside and Southside of Chicago and the majority of our PCH fellowship grads continue to practice surgical OB in under-resourced communities. To further this surgical PCH mission into global health, we have partnered with Pearl and Emmanuel Nogi at Medi-Trip to expand the fellowship into under-resourced Tanzania to help staff labor and delivery in Arusha with PCH fellows from January through June as an optional rotation (First track in PCH Global Health). To help with the months without PCH fellows (Jul-Dec), surgical OB track FM residents and fellowship applicants, recent PCH/FMOB fellowship grads and faculty with OB surgical experience are encouraged to volunteer for 2-4 week blocks in Tanzania to help with c-sections, perineal repairs and neonatal resuscitation. If you would like to volunteer for one of these July through December blocks in Tanzania as a rotation or working experience, please contact Pearl Nogi at Medi-Trip : ) [info@meditripvolunteers.co.uk]
