Description
In conjunction with Shoulder to Shoulder, our program supports international health through trips to Honduras. Our curriculum is designed to give residents and other practitioners specific training in international health with an emphasis on primary care, public health and community-oriented primary care.

Field experience
Two 2-week field experiences occur in October and February. Brigades provide acute and trauma care, as well as pregnancy care and deliveries, in addition to basic primary care.
Didactics
A two-week international health course is available for medical students and residents. It includes courses in epidemiology, cross-cultural medicine, and community-oriented primary care.

Residents are expected to use approximately $450 of their continuing medical education funds to offset costs.
