Description
John Peter Smith Family Residency Program has expanded opportunities for residents to receive substantial training in international medicine. We offer a four year track in Global Health, which includes added training in international health, tropical medicine, procedural training and maternal health, along with a wide variety of faculty-supervised international rotations in countries such as Thailand, Ghana, Uganda, South America, India and other locations. A robust International Health Clinic functioning within our Family Health Center provides ongoing experience with patients from all over the world who are coming to the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area.

3- to 4-week rotations with faculty supervision and varied emphases on family medicine education and procedural training.
Didactics
Friday afternoon didactics include special emphasis on international topics every month. Residents are enabled and encouraged to attend intensive international training seminar in concert with the INMED organization for two weeks every year.
