In addition to meeting all of the ACGME required elements for a Family Medicine residency, one of our faculty designed and opended a clinic which provides care to underserved Latinos in our community. We provide mother-baby care and all hospital related care for these patients which gives us continuous exposure to maternal/newborn care while on our inpatient team. We also have an internal-medicine trained geriatrician on our core faculty and have three family physicians who provide cesarean sections for our obstetric patients. We have three Family Medicine faculty who are also adjunct faculty in the obstetric deparment. Chattanooga has been rated as the number one outdoor city in the USA two out of the last five years.We offer a Global Health Elective which goes to the same very rural community in Haiti each year. We also have a 100% acceptance rate into fellowships since the inception of our residency in 1996.
