Program Description

Dive into the primary care revolution with the Stanford-O'Connor FMRP! We are an innovative, academically rigorous community-based program with a strong focus on wellness and support. Located in San Jose since 1977, we offer strong OB and behavioral science training, a sports medicine fellowship, and enrichment pathways in a nationally recognized Faculty Development track (OSLER), integrative medicine, and POCUS. Our residents practice full-spectrum family medicine in an unopposed county-owned community hospital, benefit from teaching and research opportunities with our academic sponsor, Stanford, and share in our mission to care for the urban underserved population of San Jose in our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) residency clinic. Our talented and diverse faculty have interests that span the breadth of Family Medicine, including international health, obstetrics, mental health, LGBTQ+ health, palliative care, integrative medicine, pain management, quality improvement, practice management, women’s health, POCUS, academic medicine, HIV/AIDS, advocacy, and sports medicine. Our Bay Area location makes it easy for residents to sample the culinary diversity of San Jose, explore the cityscapes of San Francisco, roam the beaches of Santa Cruz, and savor the fruits of Napa and neighboring wine country. Join us in shaping and leading Family Medicine in the Bay Area and beyond!
