Program Description

As the largest and only joint active duty military family medicine residency, the program is committed to training outstanding active duty Army, Navy, and Air Force family physicians that are prepared to work in any environment across the globe. The vast majority of training occurs at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital which is one of the busiest community hospitals in the Military Health System. Residents also rotate at Fairfax INOVA Hospital which is the largest tertiary care center in northern Virginia. The program is dedicated to educational innovation and resident well-being. Curriculums are constantly revised or created to meet learning needs. All residency graduates have the skills to practice full-spectrum family medicine care, including obstetrics, upon graduation.
