Program Description

There are many attributes that make the Marian Family Medicine Residency Program a highly desirable program for residency training - both our staff and residents strive for academic and operational excellence, we recently opened a new 191-bed, state-of-the-art regional medical center and this year completed construction of our new Family Medicine Center. We are currently recruiting our second residency class, Class of 2018. Unlike other medical centers where family practice is just one of many residency programs, our residents enjoy primary access to training and the focused attention of our faculty. As a resident at Marian, you will experience the entire spectrum of family medicine, from labor and delivery to geriatrics and every life stage in between. In addition, residents will be provided with training for a variety of employment types from hospitalists and private practice to clinics and urgent care settings. Our program curriculum is designed to focus on Family Medicine’s future, not its past. We believe that resident physicians can be important contributors to our hospital’s evolving culture of safety and our clinic’s Patient-Centered Medical Home. We believe that patients and learners deserve safe, evidence-based, efficient care systems that focus on continuously improving team-based care principles. We encourage prospective physician residents and interested community members to browse our Marian Family Medicine Residency Program pages to learn more about our new residency program, our stunning new hospital and our region - the breathtakingly beautiful Central Coast of California.
