Program Description

Our first class of residents will start in July 2020 in Flagstaff, Arizona. Our sponsoring institution, North Country HealthCare, is a federally qualified health center system. It has served the people of northern Arizona for nearly 25 years and has steadily grown to make a difference in the lives of people in fourteen diverse rural communities across N. Arizona. Our clinic experiences are built around interdisciplinary, team-oriented care in a community health center, working alongside providers and staff who are committed to serving others and caring for the whole person. Training and practicing in a community health center has several advantages. As a resident you will learn to care for high-needs patients who have limited resources and limited access to care. You will have the opportunity to treat a diverse group of patients in the full spectrum of their illness and social milieu while being supported by a well-developed network of patient, family, and community resources. Our program emphasizes front-line full spectrum experiences in rural settings, caring for a wide spectrum of insured and uninsured patients and families. Our OB experience is very strong in both volume and care of high risk patients. Required curricular elements include telehealth, MAT, and rural remote experiences.
