Program Description

As a 1+2 program, The Wright State Boonshoft School of Medicine Rural offers the best of both worlds. Your first year is spent learning in an 800 bed tertiary care bed hospital where you and your fellow urban family medicine residents run a large inpatient service under the supervision of your faculty. Your first year Pediatric experience is at Dayton Children's, a regional pediatric facility. You'll begin your Continuity Clinic in a newly renovated residency suite that opened July 1, 2024 at Greenville's Federally Qualified Health Center (Family Health). The last 2 years will be in Greenville and rural Darke County. You'll gain valuable experience in our rural hospital setting. While at the campus of Family Health in Greenville, you will have access to Clinical Pharmacists, Behavioral Health professionals, Dentists and Optometrists. You'll work side by side with caring, competent, board certified Family Physicians who all share a passion for teaching. Please consider a visit as we are excited to show you what we have to offer.
