Incorrect species. The article “Emerging Vector-Borne Diseases” (October 1, 2016, p. 551) inadvertently implied that Aedes albopictus was the only species of mosquito capable of spreading the Zika virus. The more accurate term Aedes species should have been used in the following places: (1) the eighth sentence of the abstract (p. 551), “Zika virus is spread through Aedes species mosquito bites (namely Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus), is transmitted sexually, and may rarely spread nonsexually from person to person.”; (2) in the last row of Table 1 (p. 552) the vector listed for Zika virus should have been Aedes species mosquito; (3) in the second full sentence in the left-hand column of page 554, “It is carried by Aedes species mosquitoes, including both Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus, the latter of which has a wider range in the United States”; and (4) in the last sentence of the first paragraph of the Prevention section (p. 556), “However, Aedes species mosquitoes feed day and night, and most ticks are daytime feeders.” The online version of the article has been corrected.
