Am Fam Physician. 2023;110(1):12

The American Family Physician (AFP) photo competition encourages students and residents to share their stories through photographs about how they use the AFP journal. Photos could feature individuals or groups, ordinary or extraordinary locations, and have a humorous or serious tone.

We are pleased to announce this year's winners:

  • Otito Odiakosa, MD, MSHCM, a third-year resident and chief resident at Adventist Health Tulare, Tulare, Calif.

  • Deanna Chea, a third-year medical student at Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV, Las Vegas, Nev.

An award presentation will be held during the American Academy of Family Physician’s National Conference for family medicine residents and medical students in Kansas City, Mo. The winning photos are being shared in this journal issue, in the digital version of AFP, and on the AFP social media channels. Winners received their choice of a gift card or registration to the National Conference and a one-year print subscription to AFP. Photo submissions that received honorable mention are featured on the AFP website. This is the fourth year of the photo contest, and we received the highest number of creative submissions illustrating the role the journal plays in education. We are proud to display all of the wonderful photo submissions on AFP social media.

We are thankful to everyone who participated in the AFP Photo Contest this year.
