I've found that the advice in “Thank your staff regularly” [Practice Pearls, January/February 2010] is so true! You can never thank your staff or your patients too much. I periodically treat my staff to meals at a local restaurant and give them small cash bonuses. And once a year we give patients – and the mailman – carnations.
