Aug. 8, 2024, News Staff — Residents and students elected their peers to leadership roles during the 2024 National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students.
Those who were elected by delegates to the National Congress of Family Medicine Residents and the National Congress of Student Members at the conference, held Aug. 1-3 at the Kansas City, Mo., Convention Center, will be confirmed by the AAFP Board of Directors (or other family medicine organizations) in the coming weeks.
Those elected to resident leadership positions are:
Resident/fellow member, AAFP Board of Directors: Aerial Petty, D.O., health policy fellow, Family Medicine Center for Professionalism and Value in Health Care, George Washington University, Washington, D.C.
Resident chair, FUTURE 2025 (National Conference): Kate Tian, M.D., University of Vermont Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program, Burlington
Resident alternate delegates, AAFP Congress of Delegates: Grace Kelly, M.D., University of Florida Family Medicine Residency Program, Gainesville; Tegan Koski, M.D., Naval Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program, Jacksonville, Fla.

Student member, AAFP Board of Directors: Mikala Cessac, University of Missouri - Columbia School of Medicine

The conference drew 5,201 registrants, including 1,641 students and 1,389 residents.
